Studio 5

If you live in Utah, be sure to catch me on Studio 5 tomorrow morning at 11. I'll be showing you how to make my snowflake banner.

Cute Clock

First I have to say "thanks" to everyone who left nice comments yesterday & sent tips. I really appreciate it. I've actually had my artwork "stolen" several times, but this is the first time I haven't been able to find the company to contact, so I was really frustrated. Anyhow, I've been eying this clock on Etsy for some time now. I love how simple it is. You can choose from a variety of trendy colors as well.

Help? Reward for information.

I found this card while pursuing blogs. This card is sold at Fenwicks on bond street in London. If you notice, the Matryoska doll used on the card happens to be my illustration that someone else has used, and put a snowflake onto. I've been searching the web forever trying to find the company who produced this card so I can kindly tell them not to use my copyrighted illustrations on their future products, but since it looks like it was made in the UK I'm having trouble tracking down the company. If any of my readers recognize this card and could point me the right direction. I would really appreciate it! I try hard to protect my copyrighted images, as I've worked hard on them, and when other companies use them without my permission it ruins my credibility as an artist. I've gotten several emails in the past of people accusing me of stealing artwork from other companies, when in fact it was a larger company stealing my artwork. It is a difficult and expensive process to prove that I in fact created the artwork first, which is why I try so hard to protect my illustrations.
Thanks so much for any help you can provide! I would be happy to send some free vinyl to anyone who can provide me with useful information.

Swap Shop, & Blog

I signed up for the Shop Swap & Blog event. It was a lot of fun. My swap partner was Bambu Earth. I received some wonderful Lime Coconut Body Polish along with some Chocolate Chopstick. They both smell so great. They came packaged so nicely too. Unfortunatly I don't have a picture of how nicely they came packaged, as my 2 year old destroyed it before I could make it across the room to stop her.
If you are looking for a nice gift for a friend or family member, be sure to check out Amber's shop and blog.

Newly Designed

If you haven't already, take a peek at our newly designed website. It's needed a makeover for a long time!

Fall Hat Tutorial

I had this $1.50 hat from Wal-Mart laying around. I also had some felt left over from my leaf garland (shown above), so I decided to make the hat a little more fun to wear.

1. Using the basic $1.50 snow hat from Wal-Mart, measure how it will fit onto your head, then cut off the excess area.
2: Cut some petals, little circles, & a leaf out of your felt. They don't need to be perfect (it's part of the charm.)
3: Place pieces onto the hat to get a general Idea of how you'd like your hat to look.

4: Stitch your pieces onto your hat. I used the left over gold floss from my leaf banner to stitch the flower onto my hat.
5: Finish your bottom edge. I plan to fishes the bottom of the hat off with a simple stitch using a thin yarn.

NOEL holiday necklace

I will be adding a few necklaces to my Etsy shop this week. The pendants & charms I used are my original illustrations & I only have a few of each of them, so get them while they are still around. They make great gifts, or would be fun to wear to a holiday party.

Autumn Leaf Garland Tutorial

1: Click Here to download my Leaves Pattern PDF file.
2: Print the file, then cut out the leaves.

3: Trace Leaf shapes onto felt. I chose felt in 4 different fall colors. I used a white pencil to trace the leaves onto the dark felt colors.

4: Cut leaf shapes out of felt.

5: Using an embroidery floss, stitch the leaf veins onto each leaf.
I used a gold colored floss which I thought was a little thick, so I pulled 3 strands out of the floss to make it easier to stitch. You could save some time, and use a gold glitter glue or fabric paint to make the leaf veins instead.

6: Decide how you want to place your leaves.
7: stitch leaves to a rick rack or ribbon.

8: Hang your new Thanksgiving garland and enjoy!
